Group Contacts Exporter ("the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that exports member details from WhatsApp Web groups you belong to, into a local Excel/CSV file. This policy explains what data the extension touches and how it is handled.

What the extension accesses

When you use the extension on a WhatsApp Web group, it reads information already visible to your account through the WhatsApp Web interface, including:

How your data is processed

All extraction and file generation happens locally, inside your own browser. The extension does not operate a server, and it does not transmit, upload, sync, or store your contacts or group data anywhere outside your device. The CSV or Excel file it produces is saved directly to your computer through your browser's normal download mechanism.

What the extension does not do

Optional feedback form

If you choose to submit feedback through the extension's optional feedback form, the text you type is the only information that leaves your browser. Submitting feedback is entirely optional.

Permissions

The extension requests browser permissions only to the extent needed to read the currently open WhatsApp Web page and to save the exported file to your device.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the lawful use of any data you export, including compliance with applicable privacy and data protection laws in your jurisdiction.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
